Caroline and Pete booked Iscoyd Park whilst it was a building site and only 9 months before the wedding date! Iscoyd Park is now a truly stunning wedding venue, complete with luxurious decor and a professional yet homely service from the owners Phil and Susie Godsal. The venue, the couple and Caroline’s wedding dress led the way to the style of the wedding. Words like luxurious, gourmet, delicate and entertaining came to mind. Most important for Caroline and Pete was the food, the wine and the experience for their guests. The evening before their wedding day they hosted an intimate meal for immediate family at Iscoyd Park to kick off the celebrations. So now for photos and details…

Caroline’s beautiful lace Cymbeline dress together with her blue eyes lent themselves to a rich Midnight blue and soft Windsor blue colour scheme. These colours, together with a soft pink for contrast, were used throughout…

From the Midnight blue and ivory damask wedding stationery…

To the bridesmaid dresses made from either chiffon or satin in Midnight blue with two having Windsor blue sashes, to the cravats and pocket squares for the groomsmen and little bow tie for the page boy…

To the damask Midnight and Windsor blue alternating napkins…

To the wonderful 3 tier cake of fruit, vanilla and chocolate truffle covered in white icing with a Midnight blue damask design to match the invitations!

Canapés such as halloumi chips and mini Thai crab cakes were served with prosecco whilst a string quartet played during the drinks reception. Smoked salmon blinis followed by beef wellington, topped off with a selection of miniature desserts, provided the guests with a gourmet experience. The wine had been specifically chosen by Pete and Caroline after many taster bottles over the preceding months – all in the name of an excellent experience for the guests of course! Carefully selected cheeses were then served with glasses of port later on in the evening. There were no empty stomachs and plenty of very satisfied guests!

Little organza pouches were filled with blue hydrangea and ivory rose petals and placed on the chairs ready for guests to take with them after the ceremony to shower Caroline & Pete

Caricatures of Caroline and Pete were drawn ahead of the wedding and placed on the Ladies and Gents doors, providing the guests with a little giggle, as well as Caroline and Pete as they did not see them until the wedding day!

The table plan and place names were lovingly made by Caroline and the table names by Pete’s artistic mum. They chose names of summits/ mountains they had climbed, aside from their top table being Ben Nevis which they climbed on their honeymoon! Place names were hand written and then tied to the backs of the chairs. Caroline cut out all of the ovals for the plan and table names, as well as the 120 place names!

The guests were provided with little note cards and envelopes on which to write their messages to Caroline & Pete. They then sealed them with a wax seal (representing the legal professions they both work in) and posted them in the birdcage ready for Caroline and Pete to open on their first wedding anniversary…

To complement Caroline’s beautiful soft lace dress and the blue colour design, blue hydrangea were the starting point. The blue hydrangea made perfect bridesmaid bouquets interspersed with ivory roses. Beautiful large birdcage style urns were filled with hydrangea, roses and foliage for the ceremony room. Combinations of blue and pink hydrangea, ivory and pink roses, sea holly and eucalyptus made up three different table centre designs in assorted silver vases. A large flower ball of the same flower combination was hung from the centre of the marquee, quite dramatic between the two chandeliers. Blue hydrangea petals were sprinkled on tables together with little flower gems on tables. Ornate silver table name holders showed off the summits and silver diamante votive holders provided an elegant holder for the tea lights.

Guests were transported from their hotels to the venue in quirky vintage buses which you wouldn’t normally class as entertainment, but the guests were kept amused by the tales the drivers told!

Civilised reception drinks in the grounds of an exquisite mansion, whilst being serenaded by a string quartet

Sporting guests took to the lawn to play a little croquet and a caricaturist also roamed the grounds grabbing willing customers, whilst those less willing chuckled at the drawings

The evening truly came alive with an amazing performance by a rock, pop and indie band

Caroline and Pete’s wedding day was thoroughly enjoyed by all, it was filled with happiness, love, fun, gourmet food and delicious wine! As if that wasn’t enough, Mr & Mrs carried on the celebration the following morning with a brunch for close family and friends who had travelled from afar. A wholesome, local produce full English breakfast was served at Iscoyd Park, served on vintage crockery provided by the caterer.

We came across some clever little heel stoppers to put onto Caroline’s shoes so she could go walking in the beautiful rustic grounds of Iscoyd Park to have some photos taken, without sinking into the grass and getting stuck! Take a look at Pretty Pink Toes.
